Browns Releasing WR Odell Beckham Jr.
The Browns in a statement released on social media they will be releasing WR Odell Beckham Jr. Friday morning:
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported earlier Friday that the Browns were negotiating with Odell and his reps for a release pending they rework his contract. The Browns excused OBJ from practice on Wednesday and Thursday, indicating they planned to move on from polarizing star after Odell Beckham Sr. posted videos on IG of QB Baker Mayfield missing his son many times thoroughout their tenure together. Beckham leads the team in targets through the first eight games of the season but never seemed to find a connection with Mayfield.
The star wideout will now be on waivers with a chance to regain some of his magic from earlier in his career with a new team.
