2021-'22 NBA Opening Night: Bucks Hangs Banner and Curry Posts Triple-Double

The Bucks got to drop their championship banner and we got to see the new-look Lakers in action. Here are the results from the beginning of the 75th anniversary season:

Warriors Rally Late against lakers

The Lakers got off to a fast start in the season opener, but the Warriors outscored them 68-55 in the second half for a comeback win late.

Curry drives against Kent Bazemore and Davis of the Lakers

Steph Curry led the way for the Warriors with a 21-point, 10-assist, 10-rebound triple-double, while Jordan Poole continued his hot stretch with 20 points to beat the Lakers 121-114.

The Lakers' duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis scored big for the team. James recorded 34 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists, while Davis added 33 points and 11 rebounds. Russell Westbrook didn’t have a good debut for the team at home only scoring eight points, shooting 4-13 from the field with the worst plus/minus (-23) for the Lakers.

The Warriors’ ball movement was the key for tonight’s win. They had 30 assists on 41 made field goals, the biggest this pass to a Andrew Wiggins shot in the fourth:

The Lake Show had some good moments tonight but they will need to figure out the rotation problem with Westbrook and backup point guard Rajon Rondo.

Bucks Takes The Win On Banner Night

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 32 points for the Bucks after he and the team got their championship bling, beating the Nets 127-104.

Khris Middleton and Pat Connaughton each added 20 points for the Bucks who loss Jrue Holiday with a bruised right heel.

Kevin Durant led the Nets with 32 points and 11 rebounds. Off-season pickup Patty Mills scored 21 points and shot 7 of 7 from 3-point range in his debut for the team. James Harden chipped in 20 points.

The Bucks’ largest lead was 23. Nets scratched and clawed their way into the game before the second half but were never able to get within six points for the rest of the way.

Much was made of the Kyrie Irving-Vaccine situation as he did not play in tonight’s game as he continues with his stance. Charles Barkley was fired up about the situation and shared these thoughts on the TNT broadcast:
