Dodgers Avoid 0-3 Hole With Clutch Hit By Bellinger In Comeback Win

The defending champions avoid being on the brink of elimination with another clutch hit by Cody Bellinger, followed by Mookie Betts to get the Dodgers in the win column in the NLCS.

The Braves were looking like they were on their way to taking a commanding lead in the series up until the closing moments of the game. Bellinger came through in the eighth inning with a game-tying three-run home run 399 feet to right-center:

Betts followed Bellinger's clutch efforts by doubling home Chris Taylor to give the Dodgers a 6-5 lead that would hold up as the final score of Game 3, making the series 2-1 in the Braves’ favor heading into tomorrow’s Game 4.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that Bellinger’s home run “flipped everything” in a series that was surprisingly lopsided.

“We were dead in the water, you could see it,” Roberts said.

Freddie Freeman was able to break out of his NLCS slump with three singles but will now have to keep up those efforts with the Dodgers throwing a heavyweight blow going back home in Wednesday’s matchup.
