Celtics' Jaylen Brown To Miss Remainder Of The Season With Wrist Injury

The Boston Celtics have announced that All-Star Jaylen Brown will miss the remainder of the season with a wrist injury this Monday evening.

The guard has a torn scapholunate ligament in his left wrist that will require surgery later this week. No timetable has been released yet for his return to the court.

Brown was in the midst of a career-best season, averaging highs in points (24.7), field goal percentage (48.4), three-point percentage (39.7), and free-throw percentage (76.4), despite being injury-riddled all year. The former third overall pick got his first All-Star nod this season, being one of the few bright spots for the C’s this year.

The Celtics look completely different from the one we saw in the bubble last year, which made the Eastern Conference Finals. Brown and fellow star Jayson Tatum have shouldered a heavy load for the Celtics all year as the team dealt with injuries throughout the team and their fair share of COVID issues but they alone couldn’t mask the roster issues and poor performance the team often gave.

The Celtics will have to look to rebound with Tatum leading the charge as they most likely enter in the Play-In Tournament at the seventh seed. Kemba will need to step up if they are going to have any chance of advancing in the playoffs. Players like Evan Fournier, Payton Pritchard, and Aaron Nesmith will also have to play a bigger role for coach Stevens whose job was on the hot seat earlier this season.
