Saints' Payton Fears Winston Suffered "Significant" Damage To Knee

Saints head coach Sean Payton said he thinks that QB Jameis Winston suffered a "significant" knee injury before being carted off the field in the second quarter of yesterday’s game against his former team.

Winston was injured during a horse-collar tackle by Bucs LB Devin White who pulled down Winston by the shoulder forcing him to land awkwardly. Winston's left leg got pinned behind him as he hit the turf and needed to be carted off after attempting to limp to the sideline. NFL Network Ian Rapport and Jane Slater says potential damage has been done to both Wintson’s ACL and MCL:

"I cried when I saw him coming in," Payton said. "It's hard."

There is no current timetable for the return of Winston. The Saints will need to make a decision on a QB as their backup Tayson Hill is also recovering from injury but could be available for the next game. The good news for Saints fans is Winston was seen dancing with the team and seemingly in good spirits after the team rallied to beat the Bucs:
