Here are our picks for Week 4 of the NFL season
Treasure List:
Devante Parker:
Devante Parker makes the Treasure List this week for multiple reasons. First, he is the No. #1 WR on his team with a gunslinger in Ryan Fitzpatrick at QB. The Seahawks defense had allowed over 400 passing yards per week so far this season. Miami should also be playing behind for most of this game so you can’t go wrong with starting Parker this week.
James Robinson:
He makes our Treasure List this week because he is the lead back in Jacksonville and potentially a three-down back. Throughout the first three weeks, he is averaging 17-19 touches per game. He also has scored in his last two matchups. Most importantly he is facing a struggling ad injured Bengals front seven. Look for another strong week from Robinson.
Kenyan Drake:
Kenyan faces a Carolina defense who has struggled against RBs so far this season. Last week Carolina gave up a total of 170 yards to the Chargers RBs. Although Drake hasn’t scored in two games, he is in a great offense led by Kyler Murray where he averages close to 20 touches a game. This Cardinals offense is filled with gold.
Cowboys WRs:
I love this matchup against the Cleveland Browns this week. The Cleveland Browns secondary has been impacted by the injury bug. They have also allowed 5 TDs to WRs in the last three weeks. Dallas is also averaging almost 30 points per game (29.3). The Cowboys WRs had a great bit of success last week against the Seahawks defense and I see them continuing this trend.
Trash List:
Emmanuel Sanders:
Sanders over the past two games has only had eight targets for five catches. With Saints star Michael Thomas set to return this week from injury, this target share can only get worse for Sanders. With Drew Brees ranking dead last in air yardage per attempt (4.61), things do not look to be going in a good direction for Sanders.
Carson Wentz:
I believe we are close to the end of the Carson Wentz era in Philadelphia. It gets no better for him that his matchup this week is against the 2nd best passing defense in the NFL in the San Francisco 49ers in primetime on Sunday Night Football. Wentz only had 225 passing yards last week against a Bengals defense who ranks 6th in passing defense, yet they aren’t as good as the 49ers. With Eagles first-round WR Jalen Reagor heading to IR, and Alshon Jeffery still banged up, it’s best to keep Wentz on the bench this week.
Buccaneers Backfield:
This running-back by committee backfield has given fantasy managers headaches all year not knowing who to start. Ronald Jones or Leonard Fournette. Neither had a very successful day against a banged-up Denver Broncos team last week. I see the same continuing for them when they go against a Chargers defense on Sunday. While the Chargers are allowing 109.3 yards on the ground per game, I don’t believe this is enough for a shared carry backfield to be successful. Especially for these two backs who often lose snaps to LeSean Mccoy in the passing game also.
WR T.Y Hilton:
Early on in this 2020 season, the connection between new Colts QB Phillip Rivers and T.Y Hilton has not been a successful one. Hilton is only averaging 44.3 yards per game on about three to four catches per game this season. Last week made 14 straight games with less than 100 receiving yards and eight straight games without scoring a touchdown. Until he and Rivers start connecting more often, he’s merely a flex play in deeper leagues.
Stay tuned next Thursday for Trash or Treasure.
