#FantasyFootball - NFL Week 7: Trash or Treasure

This NFL season is really heating up.
Teams are starting to feel that do or die mid-season pressure. I’m sure some of your fantasy teams are too. With only about six or seven weeks left before fantasy playoffs in most leagues, these next few games could make or break your season. This Week 7 list will help you win your matchup this week, and move one step closer to securing a playoff berth.
This is a weekly column we will be doing for all the Fantasy Football lovers out there! Each week we will dive into which players we think will be like finding gold to help you win your fantasy matchup for the week, or who belongs to be put in the trash.

Here are our picks for Week 7 of the NFL season:
Trash List:
Ezekiel Elliott:
I know he is a Star RB in most fantasy leagues but I don’t like his matchup this week. He is going up against a stout front seven in a division game with the Washington Football Team. The Washington front seven has played decent against RBs so far this season, not giving up too many fantasy points. Another reason I don’t like Zeke this week is because of the injuries and problems on the Dallas Cowboys offensive line. The Cowboys have lost multiple starters this season on their OL to injuries. Zeke also had some trouble taking care of the ball last week against the Cardinals when he fumbled twice.
Drew Lock:
I don’t like his matchup this week against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs defense is coming off a good game they had against the Buffalo Bills. They had Josh Allen rattled all night in that game. I mention Josh Allen because he has a better core around him and he has more talent than Drew Lock, and even he struggled against this defense. Lock is coming into this game where Noah Fant may not play and with a young WR core. The Chiefs defense ranks second in the league for pressure rates from defenses. Drew Lock is also still a young QB who is still trying to progress in the NFL.
Joe Mixon:
Mixon has played the Cleveland Browns already this year. During that outing, the Browns held him to 46 rushing yards. He also had 40 receiving yards. I don’t like this matchup because the Browns are allowing the fourth-fewest rushing yards in the league right now. I wouldn’t expect much from Mixon in this one unless it’s him receiving the ball. Mixon is also still banged up from last week's game, something fantasy managers should keep their eye on throughout the week.
Robert Woods/Cooper Kupp:
The Rams are facing the Chicago Bears who have been somewhat stingy against WRs this season. The Bears defense has allowed the 3rd fewest fantasy points to WRs this year. The Rams are also unpredictable on their offensive game plan most of the time, don’t expect boom weeks from these two wideouts.
Treasure List:
Kenny Golladay:
Golladay is in for a huge day against a struggling Atlanta Falcons secondary. Just last week the Falcons gave up 166 yards and two touchdowns to Vikings rookie WR Justin Jefferson. The Falcons defense is allowing the fifth-most WR fantasy points to opposing wideouts. With Golladay’s talent and poise, putting him in your lineup this week is gold.
Kareem Hunt:
Hunt and the Cleveland Browns offense will be looking to rebound after a horrible performance against the stingy Steelers defense last week. Their opponent this week is the perfect candidate just for that. The Cincinnati Bengals are allowing 25 fantasy points per game to opposing backfields, 25!!!! That’s an insane number and after the last game, expect the Browns to go back to what they do best; running the football. Expect Hunt to be in his bag this weekend.
Terry McLaurin:
Scary Terry goes up against a horrible Cowboys defense this week. McLaurin saw a season-high 12 targets come his way last game, new starting QB for the Washington Football Team Kyle Allen, seems to like throwing it to him in the slot A LOT. With this connection blooming, and a Cowboys defense that has allowed 14 touchdowns to wideouts in six games, expect big things from McLaurin this week.
Josh Allen:
After a hot start to this season, Josh Allen has struggled a bit in the past two games. Yet this week’s matchup with the New York Jets has plenty of riches in store for Allen. The Jets are allowing the fifth-most yards per attempt to opposing QBs and are 21st in pressure rates. I’d they aren’t getting to Allen, they don’t stand a chance in stopping him from having a big day. Josh Allen is guaranteed money this week against this struggling defense.
Stay tuned next week for more Trash or Treasure.
