Chris Paul Enters League’s Health and Safety Protocol, Out Indefinitely

The Chris Paul curse continues with his best chance at a championship hanging in the balance.

The Suns star point guard and leader has entered the league’s COVID-19 health and safety protocol indefinitely, reported Wednesday morning by Shams Charania.

This is a tough blow for the Suns who just made it to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in a decade behind the brilliance of Paul and was awaiting the victor of the Clippers-Jazz series. If that series goes seven games, it would wrap up on Sunday with the WCF starting that following Tuesday, giving CP six days in isolation to that point. Paul was all-time great in the series against the Nuggets but now his status for the WCF is up in the air. The period of isolation would be shorter for players who are vaccinated however, Shams also noted. The minimum time for the safety protocols is 10 days.
